MRI of the Shoulder in the Scapular Plane         (Return to List of Available Self-Test Images - Normal Structure)

This is a contiguous series of MRI slices of the shoulder in a 32y old man. The plane of each section corresponds to that of the scapula, which is about halfway between a coronal and sagittal plane. The first section is the most anteromedial, and subsequent sections are progressively more posterolateral. In the upper right corner of each image is a transverse section indicating by a yellow line the location of the scapular plane section. You can look at the video frame by frame and try to identify the labelled structures. The answers will be revealed when you click on the appropriately labelled drop-down arrows below the image.
